The Honda Vezel SUV has gone on display at Tokyo and will go on sale in 2015 A production version of the Honda Vezel SUV has gone on display at the Tokyo Motor Show, before it goes on sale in Japan on 20 December. The small SUV will be renamed for the UK market when it goes on sale in 2015.The Vezel will be built in Mexico, using many of the same parts as the new Honda Jazz in order to cut costs, and will compete with cars such as the Ford EcoSport and the Nissan Juke, meaning it should be priced from around £15,000.Sitting below the Honda CR-V SUV in the model range, the compact SUV should offer a taller cabin and a higher driving position than a conventional hatchback of the same length, thanks to its raised body.Although the cars UK specification is unconfirmed, we would expect a diesel version to be available. In Japan, the car will be sold either as a hybrid with a 1.5-litre petrol engine and electric motor, or as a conventional petrol-engined car that will be tuned with economy and emissions in mind.Honda told us that there are presently no plans for a four-wheel drive version.Its most obvious rival is the Nissan Juke, which arguably invented the mini-SUV class.
