The strategic policy committee will today be asked to approve council leader Iain Gaul’s commitment to introduce the Living Wage of £7.45 per hour.
The committee is also asked to agree to introduce the Living Wage as of January 1 and review the commitment annually.
The Living Wage is set independently and updated every November. It is calculated according to the basic cost of living by the Centre for Research in Social Policy at Loughborough University.
