Regular Saturday evening dancing is held from 8pm to 11pm. If you show up at 8pm, you can have a 30 minute lesson of your choice. Tea is served mid way through the evening dance and a licensed bar is available. The cost for the evening dance is just £3.25 each. Music is provided by sound system. During the year “supper” dances to live music provides an opportunity to follow a live band for your ballroom and latin routines.
The Star Ballroom is run by Bob and Betty Barty, long standing Dundee dance diva’s. The couple now run the dances and many tuition classes from the ballroom.
The Saturday evening dancing is a fun social event, a place to meet up with dancing friends and a chance to dance on a superb dance floor. The dance floor is apparently a portion of the old Dundee Locarno Ballroom dance floor and it is wonderful to dance on. Dances for the evening range from Waltz, Quickstep, Foxtrot, Tango, some sequence dancing and some line dancing, all great fun.
The Star Ballroom Dundee – Monday Classes:
The Star Ballroom holds Sequence Dance practice classes on Monday’s starting at 7:30pm.
The Star Ballroom Dundee – Wednesday Practice Evenings:
The Star Ballroom holds practice evenings on Wednesday’s starting at 7:30pm where your host Chic and Mey will assist you with your routines or you can practice quietly on your own. The cost is £4.50 or so.
The Star also holds supper dances on a Saturday roughly once per month with a live band. The dates will be shown here for the remainer of 2008 once they are known.

Thanks so much for your comment on my blog. I’m really pleased it has been useful for you.
So glad you too are enjoying your dancing and yes the folks at Arbroath are very friendly. We have only gone a couple of times there but will be going back once the light nights come in.
When you see some new faces you will have to introduce yourself.
Thanks again for your comment.

Hi, just found your website “ballroom-dancing-diary” and wondered if you have seen mine. It is a list of dance venues, primarily in and around Glasgow, but with some venues (such as yours above) throughout Scotland. May I include a link to your site? Perhaps you would like to put in a link to mine.
Best regards
Pete
Angus Replies: Absolutely, anything that promotes the activity. Will update the site soon. Best Regards
