What an absolute TOTAL disgrace this decision by Angus Council is. Now they are in retreat but they should never have got into this position in the first place. The missing link – CONSULTATION – Why did these “representatives” not just consult the people, the community councils, the local businesses – no no they just take a blanket decision that Angus will be different and will ditch the flying of the saltire, how pathetically stupid can they be. The only possible suggestion should have been TWO flags. It beggars belief sometimes and drives you to despair the decisions that are made behind closed doors, thank god for the internet and access to information.

Regular Saturday evening dancing is held from 8pm to 11pm. If you show up at 8pm,  you can have a 30 minute lesson of your choice. Tea is served mid way through the evening dance and a licensed bar is available. The cost for the evening dance is just £3.25 each. Music is provided by sound system. During the year “supper” dances to live music provides an opportunity to follow a live band for your ballroom and latin routines.

The Star Ballroom is run by Bob and Betty Barty, long standing Dundee dance diva’s. The couple now run the dances and many tuition classes from the ballroom.

The Saturday evening dancing is a fun social event, a place to meet up with dancing friends and a chance to dance on a superb dance floor. The dance floor is apparently a portion of the old Dundee Locarno Ballroom dance floor and it is wonderful to dance on. Dances for the evening range from Waltz, Quickstep, Foxtrot, Tango, some sequence dancing and some line dancing, all great fun.
